20th Annual Achievement in the Arts Awards

On Sunday, May 20, 2018, the Westmoreland Cultural Trust held it’s 20th Annual Achievement in the Arts Awards Celebration at the Palace Theatre in Greensburg by recognizing three Derry Area High School seniors with Awards of Artistic Merit. This year’s awardees from Derry include Brandon Pease for Music, Caelan Reilly McChesney for Theatre and Jessica Myers for Visual Arts.

For two decades now the Trust has continued the tradition of annually acknowledging the creative endeavors from 54 area high school seniors for their exemplary skills in music, theatre and visual arts. The Derry students were nominated by their faculty and advisers and were presented their awards by Westmoreland County Judge Jim Silvis and Judge Meagan Bilik-DeFazio on stage at the historic Palace Theatre.
